Counselling
Why counselling?

Professional Therapist
I have a Masters Degree in Counselling and have established an excellent reputation with over 18 years' experience as a counsellor and counselling supervisor, working on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire borders. I previously worked as a lecturer of counselling studies at the University of Warwick and I am a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My aim is to offer a safe space and a skilled presence for people to find themselves and make meaning of their lives. If you are troubled, needing to be heard and understood, or wanting to change your life then please contact me.
My direct experience tells me...
If you are truly heard and deeply understood, you will find your own way forward. However full of pain, however confused or despairing you may feel, I will be alongside you. Friends and family can give advice; those close to you may not be able to bear your pain. They want you to stop hurting.
I have a skilled presence to stay alongside you so that you can say aloud all that needs to be expressed. Loved ones may not have the skills nor the patience to keep listening. When you are ready, I have the skills to look at how you can achieve any changes you may wish to make in your life.
A Professional Service to suit your needs
I offer therapy to individuals or couples. I negotiate times and length of sessions to suit. I am not bound by the usual pattern of an hour a week: clients often travel some distance to see me. You can choose how long the session is. If you prefer a whole day, I can offer that.
I am fully insured for all my work.
I also offer workshops on a variety of counselling-related topics, please see other pages.
